Why do you need moving insurance?
While most types of home insurance do not cover loss or damage to your possessions while in transit, some providers do extend coverage to include transit, but only if a professional mover is hired. If you are moving your household goods using your own vehicle, even your auto insurance policy will not cover your possessions. Get insurance for household goods in transit – Relocation companies offer two types of insurance while moving household goods and appliances:
a.Transit Insurance – Covers damage to goods during transit or transportation but not before or after. Damage at the time of loading or unloading is not covered.
b.All Inclusive Moving Insurance – Covers damage during the entire packing and shifting process. Damage caused while loading and unloading is also covered.
